just thought i’d share one of my favourite photos i managed to capture during the Clothes Show. cant wait to go to more events like this in the future!
these are the layouts (in order) i came up with for nigel’s article “Goodnight Saigon”. the writing in this is amazing, and you can tell that nigel has the utmost respect and passion for the photographers’ work, as you should, so of course i felt the best way to present the images and words provided should reflect nigel’s tone. what better way is there to do that than full-blown images?
the most fun part was finding a way to integrate the text without tainting the images too much. it was a challenge and it took me quite a while, but i believe i successfully laid it out in full respect of the photography. i hope i did anyways.
concept mock-ups: pages for Tim’s article ‘Return of Jahmene Douglas’
Extremely quick mock-up i made. I made the layout in 5 minutes just to use as something to test out this template. And I must say it looks quite good (thanks to creative commons.org)
college magazine cover concepts no.2
so me and my friends decided to run the college magazine this year, since last year’s one was dead and went unnoticed. we felt that taking over would be a good place to showcase and practice our work. so with some like-minded recruits, we are hoping to create something that would blow our fellow students away.
my main job is the head graphic designer, but i will also be contributing to the content as well.
these are quick designs i came up with. i literally had an idea, did a < 30 minute photo shoot and threw some concepts together. of course i took feedback from the team, tweaked a few things and came up with these results. easy, 5 minute concepts, yet very effective.
obviously these arent finals, i just wanted to show you guys what i came up with so far. i will post my progress as i go along so stay tuned.
to all the followers i dont have yet, i will try to post regularly. but for now, i just wanted to get this up. ive always needed a platform to showcase my work. so here it is. its late here now, so im gonna catch some z’s. see you whenever.
you’ll all probably find that i dont follow no particular style. i dont feel i have to at this stage cos im too young for that shit, just let me follow these generic rules and yadda yadda.
anyways, this is a picture i took in oxford. it was around 5:30pm, and everyone and everywhere were wrapping it up to call it a day. you know after a long day’s work all you wanna do is chill? its great aint it. in some respects it is a good way to give yourself a pat on the back. chill the fuck, man, you’ve earned it.
this is from a shoot i did with a good friend of mine. when we shoot we tend to go in blind; no intention or whatever, we just help each other look good. thats pretty much all we go by, and we usually come up with something really cool.
ive really taken an interest in the theme of intimacy. it popped up in my head, so i decided to just go for it and direct her on the spot. shes an awesome model, you’ll probably see a lot of her on here.
